Now Hiring: Social Media Assistant

Knockout Directive, a leading personal branding and publicity firm based in Langley, British Columbia, is looking for an energetic and creative Social Media Assistant to join the team on a part-time basis (with plenty of room to grow)!

You’ll work alongside Founder, Katrina Owens, helping small and medium-sized businesses across the globe radiate BIG brand energy on social media.

This position will require weekly, in-person meetings at Knockout’s headquarters in Aldergrove, British Columbia, with some travel to events and content shoots as needed, and the majority of work completed remotely. 

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a love for storytelling, and can write engaging captions and messaging in a variety of voices, while thoroughly editing and proofreading your work.

  • You have an eye for aesthetics, and love to ensure photography and graphics are beautiful while staying on brand. 

  • You have professional communication skills, and you recognize the importance of providing an exceptional client experience, both on and offline. 

  • You are a natural problem solver – you love discovering the most effective platforms and processes for delivering your work – and you have no problem figuring out how to use them.

  • You are excited about joining a growing organization that works with a wide variety of inspiring brands and individuals across the globe.

  • You are an independent worker, with a proven track record of completing tasks efficiently and on-time.

  • You have 1-3 years of previous experience working in social media, marketing or a related field; or you’re a recent graduate of a social media/marketing post-secondary program.

  • You have a reliable vehicle and driver’s license, allowing you to travel to events and meetings across the Lower Mainland.

  • You are well-versed in Canva, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok and LinkedIn.

  • You have experience using Slack, Asana, or other project management and communication tools.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop monthly content calendars based on research, strategy, and a thorough understanding of previous months’ analytics. 

  • Write compelling and accurate captions that reflect a variety of client voices. 

  • Create a variety of content styles, including: Graphics, video (IG Reels & TikToks), and photography.

  • Work with clients on approvals, revisions and scheduling and posting their content in a timely manner.

  • Attend a variety of photoshoots and events where you’ll capture photo and video for use in future social posts. 

  • Review and analyze monthly results, compiling client reports and using analytics to inform ongoing content plans.

  • Assist in the development of digital brand strategies, contributing social media knowledge and expertise to high-level brand and publicity projects. 

  • Assist in developing systems and processes to help the social media department run smoothly.

THE FINER DETAILS:

This is a part-time hybrid role, averaging 8 - 12 hours per week to start, with plenty of room for growth and expansion.

You must be based within the Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley region(s) of British Columbia, with a reliable vehicle and driver’s license. The starting wage for this position is $20 /hour.
